Blues & Seafood 2016 in Ilwaco, Washington, is all new this year and we could not be more excited. We have what might be our best line-up yet.
Our headliner this year is blues legend Jimmy Thackery. He is a very busy man and doesn’t get up to the Pacific NW all that often. Don’t miss your chance to see him up close.
The rest of the card is just as impressive. Natty Bone, a terrific harmonica and guitar duo, will start us up on Friday, followed by a short set with our very own Ilwaco High School Jazz Band. I’m not foolin’, these kids can burn. Next up is this year’s Muddy Award Winner for Best New Act, the Bottleneck Blues Band, with their very own brand of 21st Century Blues. Then we have the big sound of North Coast Blues and the Cadillac Horns, followed by the great Tracey Fordice Band.
Saturday will sizzle when Billy D and the HooDoos roar into town. Their newest album has received outstanding accolades and been embraced by the Portland music community as well as the rest of the U.S., Canada and Europe.
They are followed by the original NW Boogie Kat himself, Norman Sylvester, The Cascade Blues Association ”Best R&B Band award 2015″.
Then it’s fasten your safety belts as Jimmy Thackery takes the stage and unleashes an intense volley of rockin’ blues guitar guaranteed to leave you breathless.
We have a new date and a slightly new location this year. To accommodate more people we have shifted the event to Friday and Saturday, September 23 & 24. We are still on the waterfront with even more amazing views of the Columbia, only now we have easier access and more parking.
